Effector cell

A cell that carries out a specific biological function in response to a stimulus, particularly in the immune system. These cells are responsible for mediating the final outcome of an immune response, such as killing infected cells or producing antibodies. Examples include cytotoxic T lymphocytes, plasma cells, and macrophages.
