Cytotoxic

Describing a substance or process that is toxic to cells, causing their damage or death. Cytotoxic agents are used in chemotherapy to kill cancer cells, but they can also harm healthy cells, leading to side effects. The degree of cytotoxicity is often measured by assays assessing cell viability or membrane integrity.
