Immune cytolysis
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005638
The destruction of cells by components of the immune system, such as antibodies, complement proteins, or cytotoxic lymphocytes. This process involves the lysis of target cell membranes, leading to cell death. Natural killer cells and cytotoxic T lymphocytes induce cytolysis by releasing perforin and granzymes.
