Natural killer cell activity assay
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007779
An in vitro method for measuring the cytotoxic capacity of natural killer (NK) cells, a component of the innate immune system. The assay quantifies the ability of NK cells isolated from a sample to lyse specific target cells, such as tumor cells or virus-infected cells. A common method is the chromium release assay, where the amount of radioactive chromium released from pre-labeled target cells corresponds to the level of cell death.
