Natural killer T cell
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007780
A specialized subset of T lymphocytes that express both T-cell receptors and markers characteristic of natural killer cells. These cells recognize lipid antigens presented by CD1d molecules, rather than peptide antigens presented by major histocompatibility complex molecules. They produce a wide array of cytokines, including interferon-gamma and interleukin-4.
