Null cell
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008153
A lymphocyte that lacks the characteristic surface markers of both B lymphocytes and T lymphocytes. These cells do not express T-cell receptors or surface immunoglobulins. Null cells represent a small fraction of the total lymphocyte population and include natural killer (NK) cells, which are part of the innate immune system and recognize and destroy infected or cancerous cells.
