Large granular lymphocyte

A type of lymphocyte characterized by its large size and the presence of prominent cytoplasmic granules. These cells constitute a morphologically defined population that includes both natural killer (NK) cells and a subset of cytotoxic T lymphocytes. They are identified in blood smears by their distinct appearance, featuring an abundant cytoplasm and azurophilic granules.
