Natural latex
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007781
A milky white colloidal dispersion of rubber particles in an aqueous serum, exuded by certain plants, most notably the rubber tree Hevea brasiliensis. The primary component is cis-1,4-polyisoprene, along with proteins, lipids, and carbohydrates. It is processed to produce natural rubber products like gloves and tires.
