Latex particle
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006482
A discrete colloidal particle of a polymer suspended in an aqueous medium. These particles are formed during emulsion, dispersion, or miniemulsion polymerization, where monomer droplets are stabilized by surfactants or other colloidal stabilizers. The size of latex particles ranges from tens of nanometers to several micrometers, influencing the final properties of the latex, such as its viscosity and film-forming ability.
