Lath crystal
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006483
A lamellar polymer crystal that is extended mainly along one of its two lateral dimensions, so it looks like a thin ribbon or strip. Its chain stems still cross the thin dimension at 45 to 90 degrees to the lamellar plane, as in any lamellar crystal. It differs from a fibrous crystal, which is long in one direction and short in both of the others.
