Homogeneous particle
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005368
A particle in a dispersed system that possesses uniform chemical composition and physical properties throughout its volume. This means that any sub-volume of the particle is chemically and physically identical to any other sub-volume of the same size. In polymer latexes, such particles are formed when the polymerization rate and monomer transport are balanced, preventing the formation of core-shell or gradient morphologies.
