Multicomponent particle

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007627

A particle in a dispersed system composed of two or more distinct chemical constituents that are segregated into different domains or phases. The arrangement of these components can result in specific morphologies, such as core-shell, snowman, or raspberry-like structures. These particles are distinct from those formed from a random copolymer, where the constituents are mixed at the molecular level.
