Highly active antiretroviral therapy
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005293
A combination of several antiretroviral drugs used to treat human immunodeficiency virus (HIV) infection. This therapeutic approach targets different stages of the viral life cycle, significantly reducing viral load and improving the immune function of infected individuals. HAART has transformed HIV infection from a rapidly fatal disease into a manageable chronic condition.
