Gene therapy

A medical approach that involves introducing genetic material into a patient's cells to treat or prevent disease. This can involve replacing a faulty gene with a healthy one, inactivating a problematic gene, or introducing a new gene to fight disease. Viral vectors are frequently used to deliver the therapeutic genes.
