Gene targeting

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004815

A genetic engineering technique that involves altering a specific gene in a living organism, often by homologous recombination. This allows for precise modifications, such as introducing mutations, deleting genes, or inserting new genetic material. It is a powerful tool for studying gene function and creating animal models of human diseases.
