Recombinant deoxyribonucleic acid
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010018
A deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) molecule formed by laboratory methods of genetic recombination to bring together genetic material from multiple sources. This process involves inserting a gene of interest into a vector, such as a plasmid, which can then be introduced into a host cell. The resulting DNA molecule is a key tool in genetic engineering and biotechnology.
