Immune evasion
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005644
The strategies employed by pathogens or tumor cells to avoid detection and destruction by the host's immune system. This can involve mechanisms such as altering surface antigens, secreting immunosuppressive molecules, or interfering with antigen presentation. Many viruses, bacteria, and cancer cells exhibit sophisticated immune evasion tactics.
