Immunotoxicity

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005715

The adverse effects of a substance on the immune system, resulting in altered immune function. These effects can include suppression of immune responses, leading to increased susceptibility to disease, or enhancement of immune responses, potentially causing hypersensitivity or autoimmune conditions. Immunotoxicity is evaluated through a range of tests that measure immune cell populations, cytokine production, and antibody responses.
