Rotaxane polymer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010438
A macromolecule in which multiple rotaxane units are incorporated into the polymer backbone or as side chains, maintaining their mechanically interlocked architecture. These polymers exhibit unique properties due to the topological confinement of their components. They are synthesized by polymerizing rotaxane monomers or by threading macrocycles onto pre-formed polymer chains.
