Side-chain macromolecular rotaxane

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010843

A macromolecular rotaxane where the rotaxane constitutional unit is attached as a side chain to a polymer backbone. The cyclic component of the rotaxane is threaded onto a linear component, which is then covalently linked to the main polymer chain. This structure incorporates the unique mechanical properties of rotaxanes into a polymer architecture.
