Rotaxane constitutional repeating unit
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-010433
A constitutional repeating unit of a macromolecular rotaxane that itself has a rotaxane structure, so every repeat contains a macrocycle interlocked with a threading segment. It is the smallest unit whose repetition builds the regular macromolecule. It is abbreviated rot-CRU, and a regular macromolecular rotaxane is one made of a single such unit repeated with all units connected in the same directional sense.
