Macromolecular rotaxane
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006878
A mechanically interlocked molecular architecture where a macrocyclic component is threaded onto a linear macromolecular chain, preventing its dissociation. The macrocycle cannot escape due to bulky end-groups on the linear polymer. This type of rotaxane is characterized by its unique topological isomerism and dynamic properties.
