Macromolecular pseudorotaxane

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006877

A supramolecular assembly formed by the non-covalent threading of a linear macromolecule through one or more macrocyclic molecules. Unlike a rotaxane, the components are not mechanically interlocked by bulky end-groups. The stability of the assembly relies on non-covalent interactions such as hydrogen bonding or host-guest interactions.
