Glycols
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-004940
Organic compounds containing two hydroxyl (-OH) groups attached to different carbon atoms. These diols are typically more viscous and have higher boiling points than monohydric alcohols of similar molecular weight due to increased hydrogen bonding. Ethylene glycol is a common example, used as an antifreeze.
