Bisphenols

A class of organic compounds characterized by two hydroxyphenyl groups connected by a bridging carbon atom or group. These compounds are often synthesized from phenols and aldehydes or ketones. Bisphenol A is a well-known example, widely used in the production of polycarbonates and epoxy resins.
