Polycarbonate

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013411

A polymer containing carbonate (-O-CO-O-) linkages in its main chain. These polymers are typically synthesized from bisphenols and phosgene or its derivatives. Polycarbonates are known for their excellent impact resistance, transparency, and heat resistance, making them widely used in applications such as compact discs, safety glasses, and automotive components.
