Polycarborane
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-009115
An inorganic-organic hybrid polymer containing carborane cages in the main chain or as pendant groups. A carborane is a cluster compound composed of boron, carbon, and hydrogen atoms, such as the icosahedral C₂B₁₀H₁₂. These polymers exhibit exceptional thermal and oxidative stability, with some variants being stable in air at temperatures above 400 °C.
