Pendant group

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-008592

A substituent group that is attached to the main chain of a polymer but is not part of the main chain itself. This group can be a small atom or a complex molecular structure. The presence and nature of pendant groups significantly influence the physical and chemical properties of the polymer, such as solubility, glass transition temperature, and reactivity.
