Atactic macromolecule
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000872
A macromolecule in which the pendant groups or substituent atoms are randomly distributed on either side of the main chain. This irregular arrangement means there is no regular stereochemical sequence along the polymer backbone. Atactic polymers typically exhibit amorphous characteristics due to their lack of structural regularity.
