Isotactic macromolecule

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-013224

A macromolecule in which all the configurational repeating units have identical configurations at their main-chain chiral centers. This regular arrangement of substituents along the polymer backbone results in a highly ordered, stereoregular structure. Isotactic polymers often exhibit crystallinity and distinct physical properties compared to atactic or syndiotactic counterparts.
