Isostructural reaction
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006219
A chemical reaction where the overall molecular structure, including the connectivity and arrangement of atoms, is largely preserved between reactants and products. This implies that only minor changes, such as bond length adjustments or small conformational shifts, occur during the transformation. An example is a simple ligand exchange in a coordination complex.
