Aquation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000757
A chemical reaction in which a ligand in a coordination complex is replaced by a water molecule. This process is a type of ligand exchange reaction where water acts as the incoming ligand. Aquation is a common reaction for many transition metal complexes in aqueous solutions.
