Denticity
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003007
The number of donor atoms in a single ligand that are simultaneously bonded to a central atom in a coordination entity. A ligand with a denticity of one is monodentate, while a ligand with a denticity greater than one is polydentate. This property influences the stability of coordination complexes.
