Chelation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001927
The formation of a coordination complex between a central metal ion and a ligand that contains two or more donor atoms, forming a ring structure. This process typically results in a more stable complex compared to those formed with monodentate ligands. The resulting cyclic structure is called a chelate ring.
