Anation
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-000572
A ligand substitution reaction in coordination chemistry where an anionic ligand replaces a neutral ligand, typically a solvent molecule, in a metal complex. This process results in an increase in the negative charge or a decrease in the positive charge of the coordination complex. Anation reactions are common in the kinetics of metal complex formation.
