A prefix used in coordination chemistry to denote a bridging ligand that connects two or more metal centers. The number of metal atoms bridged by the ligand is indicated by a subscript following the mu symbol, such as µ₂ for a ligand bridging two metals. This notation is part of the IUPAC nomenclature for coordination compounds.
