Inner-sphere electron transfer

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005885

An electron transfer process between two metal centers where the reactants share a common bridging ligand in their coordination spheres. This bridging ligand facilitates the transfer of an electron from one metal to the other. The mechanism involves the formation of a transient binuclear complex.
