Stereoregular polymer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-011382
A regular polymer whose molecules can be described by only one species of configurational repeating unit in a single sequential arrangement. This means that the spatial arrangement of side groups along the polymer backbone follows a specific, repeating pattern. Examples of stereoregular polymers include isotactic polymers, where all substituents are on the same side of the chain, and syndiotactic polymers, where substituents alternate sides in a regular fashion.
