Isotactic polymer
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006220
A polymer composed of isotactic macromolecules, meaning all the configurational repeating units along the main chain have the same stereochemical configuration. This regular arrangement allows for efficient packing of polymer chains, leading to high crystallinity and often superior mechanical strength. Isotactic polypropylene is a common example of this type of polymer.
