Chiral

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-001999

Describing an object or a molecular entity that is non-superimposable on its mirror image. This property is often associated with the presence of an asymmetric carbon atom, but can also arise from other structural features. Chiral molecules exist as enantiomers, which rotate plane-polarized light in opposite directions.
