Enantiomerically pure
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003867
Describing a sample of a chiral compound that consists exclusively of a single enantiomer, with no detectable amount of its mirror image isomer. This state is often desired for pharmaceutical applications to avoid unwanted side effects from the inactive enantiomer. An enantiomeric excess of 100% signifies enantiomeric purity.
