Enantiomerism
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003868
The relationship between a pair of stereoisomers that are non-superposable mirror images of each other. These two molecules, called enantiomers, have identical physical properties except for their interaction with plane-polarized light and other chiral substances. For a molecule to exhibit enantiomerism, it must be chiral, meaning it lacks an internal plane of symmetry or a center of inversion.
