Meso-compound
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-007207
A chemical compound that contains two or more stereocenters but is achiral due to an internal plane of symmetry or a center of inversion. Despite having chiral subunits, the overall molecule is superimposable on its mirror image. This type of compound is optically inactive and does not exhibit enantiomerism.
