Heterotactic macromolecule
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005271
A regular macromolecule in which meso and racemic diads alternate strictly along the chain, so its configurational repeating unit contains four configurational base units. Heterotactic polypropylene has a repeating mrm tetrad. A chain with randomly arranged meso and racemic diads is atactic instead, while one built only from meso diads is isotactic and one only from racemic diads is syndiotactic.
