Enantiomerically enriched
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-003866
Describing a chiral substance composed of a mixture of enantiomers in which one enantiomer is present in a greater amount than the other. The degree of enrichment is quantified by the enantiomeric excess, which is the absolute difference between the mole fractions of the two enantiomers. A sample with an enantiomeric excess of 90% contains 95% of the major enantiomer and 5% of the minor one.
