Chirality sense
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002011
The specific handedness of a chiral object or molecule, typically designated as R (rectus) or S (sinister) for a chirality center, or P (plus) or M (minus) for a helical structure. This designation provides a systematic way to differentiate between enantiomers. It is determined by applying Cahn-Ingold-Prelog priority rules.
