Chirality plane
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002010
A plane in a molecule that contains three atoms, with a fourth atom lying outside the plane and being unable to rotate freely through it due to steric hindrance. This arrangement creates a chiral environment, as seen in certain ansa compounds or substituted ferrocenes. The plane itself is not a symmetry element.
