Chirality

Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-002006

The geometric property of a molecule or object that cannot be superimposed on its mirror image by any combination of rotations and translations. Molecules possessing this property are termed chiral and exist as enantiomers. The presence of a chiral center, axis, or plane typically confers chirality upon a molecule.
