Helix sense
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-005171
The direction of rotation of a helical polymer chain, which can be either right-handed (clockwise) or left-handed (counter-clockwise) when viewed along the helix axis. This chirality is an intrinsic property of the helix and can significantly influence the polymer's interactions and biological activity. For example, B-DNA is a right-handed helix.
