Left-handed helix
Term · Chemistry · MLC-T-CHM-006512
A helical structure that, when viewed along its axis, traces a counter-clockwise path as it recedes from the viewer. This chirality is determined by the arrangement of repeating units within a polymer chain. Many biological macromolecules, such as certain proteins and nucleic acids, can adopt left-handed helical conformations.
